Behind Gray Fox Book Club is a wonderfully international group of curious minds, enthusiastic readers and people who are always ready to disappear down an interesting conversational rabbit hole.

We may come from different countries and professional worlds, but we share a love of learning, discovering new perspectives and reading books that make us think, laugh, question and debate. Together, we help shape Gray Fox into more than a monthly book meeting: a welcoming community built around curiosity, friendship and really good conversations.

Hi, I’m Lillian Gray, founder of the Gray Fox Book Club in Munich.

Four years ago, I reached a point where I simply couldn’t survive another conversation about nappies and breastfeeding. 😅
I’m a mum of five (so I’ve definitely earned parenting conversations!), but I realised I was craving something more. I missed discussing ideas, stories, current events, history, art, and all the fascinating things that make life richer. I wanted to meet interesting people, have meaningful conversations, and rediscover a part of myself beyond motherhood.


So I started a book club.


What began as a small gathering of strangers has grown into a wonderful community of readers from all over the world. Every month we read one book, meet in person in Munich, enjoy great food and drinks, and spend an evening talking, laughing, debating, and making new friends.

Howzit I am Britt!

I’m from South Africa and I am a Producer in the entertainment industry. When it comes to books I will read anything and I love the variety of genres, authors and topics that are offered at Bookclub. Speaking of Bookclub, I am part of the welcoming committee when we meet up, some background organisation things, and building relationships with bookshops for events and talks that are in their calendars

Hi I am Sepideh!

I’m originally from Iran and now based in Munich, where I work as a Procurement Excellence Manager. At home, I share my books with my two cats, who are very committed reading companions. Books have genuinely saved my life at some of its most critical points, so reading has always been more than a hobby for me. I love seeing how differently we experience the same book and how we bring pieces of our own lives into every story we read. I believe, in the end, we are all stories. For Grayfox, I look after our social media and bring ideas that hopefully make people smile.😊

Hi I am Udit!

I’m from India, and by profession I’m a behavioural biologist and, rather unexpectedly, a part-time archaeologist. When it comes to books, I’ll read almost anything and everything I can get my hands on, a habit generously supported by the many hours Deutsche Bahn gives me to read. For the book club, I’ll be looking after the editorial and review side of things, helping shape our reviews and conversations around each book.

Hi I am Ozzy!

Hi! I’m Oğuzhan aka “Ozzy”, from Istanbul, Turkey, and an electronics engineer working in chip design and verification. My love for books started early: my father was a graphic designer, so much of my childhood was spent among Istanbul’s printing houses. I still remember picking my first book there, a history book that sparked a lifelong fascination with the past. After years of mostly history, non-fiction, and classics, Grayfox opened the door to fiction and an amazing community. As part of the leadership team, I help organise activities, develop new ideas, improve our members’ experience, and manage our email communication.

Servus I am Nathi!

I am a student here in Munich and an unshakable positive spirit. My bookshelf is usually made up of sci-fi and fantasy and while I can be a bit picky with romance, a truly great love story always wins me over. Being part of this book club however has given me a whole new appreciation for different styles of literature which has grown to become my favorite feature. I am part of the social media management team, where I assist with creating a comfortable space for our members, helping our community grow, and documenting all the clubs best memories 🙂
