1. About Gray Fox Book Club
Gray Fox Book Club is a community for readers operated by:

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of the Gray Fox Book Club website, application, member accounts and community features.
Additional terms may apply to merchandise purchases, paid events or third-party services.
2. Acceptance of These Terms
By creating a Gray Fox Book Club account or using member features of the website or application, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not create or continue using an account.
3. Purpose of the Community
Gray Fox Book Club exists to create a welcoming community around books, reading and meaningful social connection.
The website and application may allow members to:
- list books
- offer books for lending, swapping or gifting
- request books from other members
- join lending chains or waiting lists
- manage book-related interactions
- obtain information about Gray Fox Book Club events and activities
The platform is intended primarily to facilitate connections between members. Gray Fox Book Club does not become the owner, lender, buyer or seller of books exchanged between members unless expressly stated otherwise.
4. Eligibility and Accounts
Users must provide accurate information when creating an account.
Each account is intended for use by the individual who created it and should not be shared with another person.
Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their login credentials and for activity carried out through their accounts.
We may refuse account creation where reasonably necessary to protect the community, platform or other members.
5. Community Standards
Members must treat other members respectfully.
The following behaviour is not permitted:
- harassment, bullying, discrimination or threatening behaviour
- fraudulent or misleading listings
- impersonating another person
- deliberately providing false information
- spam or unsolicited commercial promotion
- using the platform primarily for commercial sales
- uploading unlawful, offensive or infringing material
- attempting to gain unauthorised access to another person’s account
- interfering with the security or operation of the platform
- collecting or scraping member information without permission
- using member information for unrelated marketing
- repeatedly abusing book-lending, swapping or gifting arrangements
- conduct that creates a material safety risk to another member
- conduct that seriously undermines the purpose or functioning of the Gray Fox Book Club community
6. Book Listings
Members are responsible for ensuring that information they provide about books is reasonably accurate.
A listing does not create a guarantee that a book will remain available.
Members may withdraw books from availability at any time unless they have already entered into an arrangement with another member.
Commercial reselling through the community platform is prohibited unless expressly authorised by Gray Fox Book Club.
7. Lending, Swapping and Gifting Between Members
Book lending, swapping and gifting arrangements are agreements made directly between the participating members.
Gray Fox Book Club provides a platform to facilitate these interactions but does not guarantee:
- the condition of a book
- that a member will return a borrowed book
- that a book will be delivered or exchanged
- the accuracy of every member listing
- the conduct of another member
Members are expected to act reasonably and respectfully when borrowing or exchanging books.
Members should make their own arrangements concerning collection, delivery and return.
Gray Fox Book Club does not require members to disclose their private home address publicly through the platform.
8. Lost or Damaged Books
Members lend books at their own discretion.
Gray Fox Book Club is not responsible for books that are lost, damaged, stolen or not returned by another member.
Members are encouraged to resolve minor disputes directly and respectfully.
Serious or repeated abuse may be reported to Gray Fox Book Club and may result in account restrictions.
9. User Content
Users may submit information, photographs, book descriptions, reviews or other material through the service where these functions are available.
Users remain responsible for the material they submit.
By submitting content necessary for operation of the service, you grant Gray Fox Book Club a non-exclusive right to store, display and process that content to the extent necessary to operate the platform and provide its features.
You must not upload content that you do not have the right to use.
10. Content Moderation
Gray Fox Book Club may review, restrict, hide or remove content where we reasonably believe that it:
- breaches these Terms
- infringes another person’s rights
- is unlawful
- creates a safety or security risk
- is misleading or fraudulent
- is inappropriate for the purpose of the community
- interferes with the proper operation of the platform
Where appropriate and legally required, affected users may be informed of the reason for a moderation decision.
11. Suspension and Termination of Accounts
Gray Fox Book Club reserves the right to protect the integrity, safety and purpose of its community.
We may warn, restrict, temporarily suspend or terminate an account where there is a reasonable basis to believe that the member:
- has materially or repeatedly breached these Terms
- has harassed, threatened or abused another member
- has engaged in fraudulent or deceptive conduct
- has misused book lending, swapping or gifting features
- has created a safety or security risk
- has attempted to manipulate, damage or gain unauthorised access to the platform
- has used the service for unlawful purposes
- has repeatedly created disruption within the community
- has provided materially false account information
- has attempted to evade a previous suspension or account termination
- has otherwise seriously undermined the legitimate operation or purpose of Gray Fox Book Club
For serious violations, safety concerns, fraud, unlawful activity, security threats or urgent circumstances, access may be suspended immediately while the matter is reviewed.
For less serious issues, we may use proportionate measures such as a warning, removal of content or temporary restriction before terminating an account.
Where reasonably appropriate and legally required, we will provide the affected user with information regarding the reason for the restriction or termination.
Nothing in these Terms requires Gray Fox Book Club to provide continued access to a free community service indefinitely.
Account suspension or termination does not affect rights that cannot legally be excluded.
12. Voluntary Account Deletion
Members may stop using the service and delete their own account at any time.
Personal data connected with deleted accounts will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
13. Events
Gray Fox Book Club may organise in-person or online events.
Individual events may have separate RSVP rules, attendance fees, cancellation terms or venue requirements.
Users are responsible for reviewing the relevant event information before booking.
Gray Fox Book Club may refuse or cancel attendance where reasonably necessary for safety, capacity, community management or serious breaches of community rules.
Statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
14. Merchandise
Gray Fox Book Club may sell merchandise through its website.
Product descriptions, prices, delivery charges and applicable taxes will be displayed during the ordering process.
An order constitutes an offer to purchase the relevant product. A binding contract is formed in accordance with the information provided during checkout and the order confirmation process.
Certain merchandise may be produced and fulfilled by third-party print-on-demand suppliers.
Statutory consumer rights, including applicable warranty and withdrawal rights, remain unaffected.
15. Intellectual Property
The Gray Fox Book Club name, logo, original artwork, graphics, website design, written material and other original branded content may be protected by copyright, trademark or other intellectual-property rights.
Users may not reproduce or commercially exploit Gray Fox Book Club branding or original materials without permission, except where permitted by law.
16. Availability of the Service
We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee that the website or application will always be available without interruptions or errors.
We may change, update, suspend or discontinue individual features where reasonably necessary.
We may also make changes required for technical, security, organisational or legal reasons.
17. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such liability cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Subject to mandatory law, Gray Fox Book Club is not responsible for private arrangements made directly between members, including book loans, swaps, gifts, meetings or exchanges.
Members remain responsible for their own decisions when interacting or meeting with other members.
18. Third-Party Services
Our website and application may link to or integrate with third-party services including Meetup, payment providers, social-media services and merchandise fulfilment providers.
Third-party services are governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.
19. Privacy
Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms where reasonably necessary because of:
- changes to our services
- new platform functionality
- technical or security requirements
- changes to applicable law
- changes to the way the community operates
Material changes will be communicated in an appropriate manner where required.
21. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections applicable to them under the law of their habitual residence.
22. Severability
If an individual provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain unaffected to the extent permitted by law.
